Cindy Tsai she/her
Co-Founder

I’m Cindy! I’m a SoCal raised Taiwanese and Chinese-American artist based in New York City. I am one of the co-founders of ZAPI Artists, and I recently finished undergrad with a degree in Musical Theatre and a minor in Critical Race and Ethnicities Studies. In my free time, you can find me bullet journaling my life, discovering new Asian food recipes, practicing retail therapy, working to decolonize my mind, and producing original content/work.​

Sofia Khwaja she/her
Co-Founder

Sofia was raised in the Chicago Northwest suburbs and is currently based in New York. She is a first generation, bi-racial South Asian artist, and now serves as the co-founder of ZAPI. 

Recent: MAYA: A New Musical, A Night of Color: Debunking the Myth.

Sofia is in her third year at Pace University, pursuing a degree in Musical Theatre with a minor in Political Science/Peace & Justice studies. In her time spent away from theatre, Sofia enjoys fitness, cooking, poetry, and stand up comedy.

i'm jay! i'm an international student from Malaysia. i'm currently studying journalism at Emerson College with minors in Sociology/Anthropology and Psychology. 

most of my work is centered on community building and service. i'm actively involved with numerous community- and advocacy-based organizations on their campus, including student government and our Asian students' association.

Lianah Sta. Ana she/her
Copywriter

Lianah Sta. Ana is an Asian-American artist of Filipinx descent. She started her professional acting career in the Broadway revival of Miss Saigon and is now an Ethnicity & Race Studies major at Columbia University. She joins ZAPI Artists as a copywriter and is excited to be part of this community of learners.​

She is passionate about the political, resistant nature of art and hopes to use the skills she's learned throughout her educational and professional career to collaborate with other like-minded individuals and work towards making the entertainment/theater industry an inclusive, accessible, equitable space.

Samantha Toy Ozeas she/her
Copywriter

Samantha Ozeas is a Chinese-American director and playwright raised in Los Angeles. Her plays have explored themes including PTSD, internet anonymity, racial bias in academic institutions, alt-right hatred, and gendered violence. She has recently been interested in staging theatre in unconventional spaces— parking lots, backyards, etc. 

Samantha is currently studying directing at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama with a minor in Gender Studies. Other interests include watercolors, beekeeping, flower arranging, and walking too fast.

Recent work: r/TheRedPill, Park Song, God Has Retired, Pride and Prejudice, earth’s most customer-centric company.
